Brand identity, Logo Design

Description:

Senopsys came to us with an AI-generated concept and a real idea worth saving. We took it from unownable, to a brand that can be reproduced in any environment they find themselves. Print, packaging, digital and trade show ready.

Starting with AI isn’t a mistake. Stopping there is.

Senopsys is a pharmaceutical sensory science company based in Massachusetts, serving some of the most prestigious global pharmaceutical companies. Their mission: make medicine easier to take. Taste, smell, mouthfeel, texture. Making Medicines Palatable.

When they came to us, they had an AI-generated logo concept in hand. It wasn’t bad. A circular “o” encoding four sensory inputs directly into the typography — smart, and objectively correct. They used AI to explore an identity rooted in their own market knowledge. There’s nothing wrong with that. But there is a gap between idea and implementation.

What a production ready logo design requires

The original concept, while formative, could only live on the screen. A prompted logo design cannot go to the printers or scale seamlessly, and here’s why.

Unrefined, unrecognizable typography.

Spacing between letters can seem small when the goal was to just create a logo, but overtime those cracks can compound at small sizes, and expose themselves at large ones. Even if you wanted to have a cohesive presentation – if that font doesn’t exist, their document cohesion is dead in the water.

No version system.

Full color, black, white, single-color — one version isn’t a system. Their logo needs to go with them on everywhere you’d expect a logo. Business cards, invoices, email. One version just doesn’t cut it.

No vector files

No vectors, like an Adobe Illustrator file, means that their designed breaks and becomes pixelated at scale. A hard stop for signage, packaging and even smaller applications like embroidery.

No Pantone or CMYK values.

Without them, commercial printing becomes a guessing game.

This is the production gap. It’s where human craft and technical knowledge take over.

Building the mark

The custom “o” is the heart of the Senopsys brand identity system, so we rebuilt it from the ground up. Four intersecting circular forms, taste, smell, mouthfeel, texture. They converging into a single unified shape. A mark that carries the entire concept without needing a caption.

Precise geometric construction means it holds at any size. Business card or banner. Standalone mark or wordmark letterform. Built around a four Pantone color system  that reproduces consistently from a clinical data sheet to a trade show tent.

Your starting point doesn’t have to be your finish line

AI got Senopsys to the starting line.

We showed them the checkered flag. That’s not a criticism of where they began — it’s an honest description of what the finish line actually looks like.

If you’re a business in the greater Boston area building or rebuilding your brand identity — whether you’re starting from scratch, from an AI concept, or from something that’s never quite felt right — we’re here to talk.
