When to Post to Your Social Media Sites
Do you post to your social media networks daily? Do you post the same time everyday? Is that the best time for your audience? Do you think your posts are being read? How is your click through rate? Here are a few tips on when the best time to post to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Research has found that the highest average click through rate happens between 1pm-4pm. With Wednesday at 3pm being the peak time for views. For businesses using Facebook, the worst time for a Facebook post would be on the weekends before 8am or after 8pm. Using photos in your posts tend to generate higher engagement than posts with just text.
Twitter has a wide area for peak times. Staying on a Twitter news feed is important to get your tweet viewed. Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9am-3pm have been found to be the peak time to get your tweets viewed, re-tweeted or favorite. However, the best times to tweet are between the hours of 1pm-3pm. Try to get a few tweets out during this time frame. Don’t bother tweeting after 8pm on the weekdays or even after 3pm on a Friday, these tend to get the least amount of re-tweets and favorites. As with Facebook, tweets that have a photo or graphic attached tend to get more attention. Tweets with photos get approximately 30% more click and 40% more re-tweets than tweets with content alone.
Share your business expertise and experience on LinkedIn on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are two times throughout those days that your posts to LinkedIn are viewed more than other times, post at 12pm or between 5pm-6pm. If you post anytime before 6am or after 10pm, Monday-Friday have a very slim chance of being seen. LinkedIn has had a big increase in big mobile users, it is up 41% since October of 2013.
