- Eating breakfast is the most important thing your student can do before they go off to school. Make sure your child east a healthy, well balanced breakfast every morning. Everyone need some fuel when they start their day in order to stay focused on what they need to do. Studies show that students who have a well-balanced diet receive better grades than those who have an unhealthy diet.
- If your child is elementary school age, teach your child about the do’s and do not’s of playground safety so they will have a fun and safe recess.
- Adjusting your child’s sleep habits. Some kids have a hard time getting enough sleep during the first few months of school. It’s not easy switching from their carefree summer mode to all business.
- Lunch is also another important part of the school day. If you pack your child’s lunch or if the buy from the school cafeteria, make sure they are getting the nutrition they need to get through the rest of their day.
- If your child will be taking the school bus to school each day, discuss the rules about riding a bus and teach your child about school bus safety.
- Having a clean, quiet, well-lit space for your children to do their homework can help improve their focus and the amount of time it takes them to get their homework done.
Making sure your children are prepared for school is a great way to ensure they get the most out of their education and the school year.
