"This
was my third year riding. Chris (my hubby), Sue (mom-in-law) and Dave
(my dad) are going for their 2nd. Our team was truly amazed by the ride
last year, each of us challenged what we thought we could do. Some might
think we are nuts. But we hope to continue riding and raising money for
the PMC until there is a cure.
This
year we have a $10,000 goal between the 4 of us. We haven't reached our
goal as of yet but have until October 2005. Cancer has a way of touching
everyone's lives in one way or another. I am lucky, My husband fought
this disease and won. But there are still so many people we know that
continue to fight this disease The mission of the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge
is to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber
Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund.
Since
it's founding in 1980, the PMC has been increasingly successful in mobilizing
the support of all these constituencies. We strive to inspire even more
proponents of our cause and intend the money we raise to afford Dana-Farber's
doctors and researchers the resources necessary to discover cures for
all cancers. The PMC is able to give 97 percent of funds raised directly
to the Jimmy Fund because the event is run almost entirely by volunteers!
That
been said We are looking for help from you to help us reach our goal.
There are a few ways you can donate.
Thank
You all For the continued love and support.

About
PMC
The PMC, presented by the Boston Red Sox, is the nations
original fundraising bike-a-thon and today raises more money than any
other athletic fundraising event in the country. It is also the most cost
efficient. With 97 cents of each dollar raised going directly to the Jimmy
Fund, the PMC has contributed more than $122 million to lifesaving cancer
research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since its 1980
inception. On August 6 and 7, 2005, nearly 4,000 cyclists will travel
six different routes, logging between 89 and 192 miles over one or two
days, through 46 scenic Massachusetts towns from Sturbridge and Wellesley
to Bourne and Provincetown.
